      Title: Date Oatmeal Cookies

  2 1/2 c  Oatmeal
  2 1/2 c  Flour
    1/4 c  Butter; or more
      1 c  Brown sugar
      1 ts Baking soda
           Water

MMMMM--------------------------FILLING----------------
      1 lb Dates
      1 c  Sugar
           Chopped nuts
      1 c  Water
 
  Beat together the butter and sugar. Add oatmeal,
  flour, baking soda and enough water so as to roll
  nicely. Mix with hands; divide dough in half. Roll
  out first the bottom crust. Add filling and cover
  with top crust. Bake in moderate oven. Cook dates,
  sugar, nuts and water in a saucepan. Cool before
  pouring onto dough.
