MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
      Title: Gingered Pears
      Yield: 4 Servings
    3/4 c  Water
    1/4 c  Sugar
      3 tb Apricot jam or preserves
      4 ts Finely chopped crystallized
    1/2 ts Ground ginger
      1 ts Grated orange peel
      2    Pears; halved and cored
  Combine all ingredients except pears; mix well.
  Add pears. Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
  Reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook 10-12
  minutes or unti pears are tender when pierced with
  knife, turning over once. With slotted spoon,
  remove pears from saucepan; place in 4 individual
  dessert diahes. Cook syrup, uncovered, over high
  heat 1-2 minutes or until it begins to thicken.
  Pour syrup over pears, cover and refrigerate until
  ready to serve. If desired, garnish with shredded
  orange peel.
